Privacy Policy

Faceo, operated by Muneeb Rafi (Pakistan) (“we,” “us”), provides AI-assisted cosmetic and grooming guidance. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We designed Faceo to collect as little as possible and to give you full control over your photos and data.

1. Who this applies to

Faceo is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the app, contact us and we will delete the data.

2. Information we collect

Photos you capture for a scan. These are images of your face that you choose to submit for analysis.

Facial analysis data. To produce your score and plan, your photo is processed by an AI model. We store the resulting scores, focus areas, and plan — not a reusable faceprint.

Onboarding answers. Your goal and quiz responses (e.g. age range, skin/hair, routine, time and budget) used to personalize your plan.

Usage events. Basic product analytics (e.g. app opened, scan started, paywall viewed) to understand and improve the funnel.

Account and purchase data. An anonymous account identifier, your self-attested confirmation that you are 18 or older (we do not collect your date of birth), and subscription status. Payments are processed by Apple; we never receive your card details.

3. Biometric information (BIPA & similar laws)

Your face photo and any facial geometry derived from it during analysis may be considered “biometric information” under laws such as the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA). We treat it accordingly.

Purpose. We use it only to generate your cosmetic score and personalized plan at your request. We do not use it to identify you, and we do not sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from your biometric information.

Consent. We ask for your explicit consent before any facial analysis. You can decline and not use the scan feature.

Retention and destruction. Your photo is used to generate your results and is retained only while needed for that purpose and to show your before/after progress. You can delete your photos and scans at any time from Privacy & Data, after which they are removed from storage. We do not retain a reusable biometric template after analysis.

Geographic note. The scan feature is not offered to Illinois residents at this time.

4. How we use your information

To analyze your photo and generate your score, focus areas, and daily plan.

To save your progress so you can track before/after results and streaks.

To operate, secure, debug, and improve the app.

To process subscriptions and confirm eligibility (18+).

5. How your information is shared

Service providers (sub-processors). We share data only with vendors who process it on our behalf to operate Faceo. We do not authorize them to use your photos to train their own models or for their own purposes, and we rely on their commitments and available privacy settings to that effect:

Payments are processed by Apple; we never receive your card details.

We never sell your personal or biometric information.

Legal. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

6. Your choices and rights

Access and delete. You can delete your photos, scans, and habit history anytime in Privacy & Data, or delete your entire account in Settings.

Depending on where you live (e.g. California/CCPA, EU/UK GDPR), you may have additional rights to access, correct, port, or delete your data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these, contact us at [email protected].

Notifications. You can turn reminders off in Settings or your device settings.

7. Data security and retention

We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.

We keep your data while your account is active and delete it when you delete your account or request deletion, except where we must retain limited records to comply with law.

8. Children

Faceo is not directed to and may not be used by anyone under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If changes are material, we will notify you in-app or update the effective date above. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
